My Sisters' Burgers

In my family, I'm not the only foodie. My sister and my mum are in on it too. We're all a bit food obsessed and anyone that knows us, knows this! Every time we get together all we can ever seem to talk about is food!

My sister, my mum (aren't they gorgeous) and me.

So, last time we all met up, my sister shared a recipe with me for her amazing burgers. I'm not the biggest burger fan myself, but this recipe has definitely changed my mind!

Lauren's Burger Recipe

• 650g lean minced beef
• 1 red onion, finely chopped
• 1-2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
• 2 egg yolks
• 2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
• 2 tsp sweet smoked paprika
• 1/4 tsp nutmeg
• 1/4 tsp cinnamon
• pinch of sugar
• salt and pepper

Burgers are really simple to make (as are all the things I love to cook) it's just a case of mixing all of the ingredients together and shaping the mix into patties. Before cooking the patties should be put back into the fridge, just to help then keep their shape before cooking. Then just fry in a pan until cooked through! Simple!

I served my burgers with melted cheese and caramelised onions, which are the best topping for a burger in my opinion! :)

Here's how to make some delicious caramelised onions:

Caramelised Onions
• 3-4 large onions
• 1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary
• brown sugar
• salt and pepper
• balsamic vinegar

Half the onions then cut into thin slices, and fry on a low heat in a pan with some butter. Add the chopped rosemary, salt and pepper. Fry until the onions are translucent, then add the balsamic and sugar. Cook until the onions become a darker colour and thicken up. The onions can then be served or chilled :)

  1. The burger sounds terrific with the spices in it.

  2. Sounds amazing! I've been craving a burger all weekend to be honest! Great to see another North West blogger - found your blog through Twitter so hello! :)
